Coil racking
- Bespoke designs based on the diameter and weight of your coil
- Direct access to each item without damaging the product
- Reel dispensing without the need to remove the reel
- Robust structure for heavy and large-format loads

Coils are one of the most challenging loads to manage in a warehouse due to their circular shape, highly variable weights, different diameters, and the need to access each SKU individually without damaging the product.
POLYPAL coil racking is specifically engineered for this type of load. It enables high-bay storage, maximizes the number of SKUs per square metre, and allows fast, orderly, and safe access to each coil.
Features of coil racking
Adapted to different diameters and weights
The system is custom-designed according to the type of coils to be stored: from light, small-format coils to large coils weighing several hundred kilograms.
Individual access to each SKU
This type of coil rack allows direct access to each coil.
Product dispensing without moving the coil
In frame-based configurations, the coil can rotate on its own shaft to dispense the product directly from the racking, without the need to remove it.
Robust and durable structure
Made from steel, coil racking is engineered to support the dynamic and static loads typical of this product type, with finishes that ensure durability in industrial environments.

Types / configurations of coil racking
POLYPAL coil racking adapts to different coil sizes, operational types, and available spaces. Main configurations:

Coil storage with frame
Coils are stored suspended on metal shafts that pass through their central core. This is the most common configuration, as it allows the product to be dispensed directly from the racking without removing the coil.

Coil storage with rack supports
The system uses the structure of a adjustable pallet racking system as a base, incorporating specific supports on the beams that prevent the coils from moving or rolling. The coils rest horizontally on these supports, which keep them stable and in a fixed position within each rack level. Both configurations can be combined in the same installation, creating an integrated system that covers the full range of coils in the warehouse.

Frequently Asked Questions
What type of coils is this system designed for?
POLYPAL coil racking is designed for any product stored in coil format: electrical cable, hoses, film, paper, wire, or similar materials. The design is customized according to the diameter, weight, and operational type of each project.
Can the product be dispensed directly from the racking?
Yes, in the configuration with horizontal shafts. The coil is suspended on the shaft and can rotate freely, allowing the product to be extracted without removing the coil from its position.
Is it possible to store coils of different sizes and weights in the same module?
Yes. The system allows coils of different diameters and weights to be combined within the same module, adapting to the variety of SKUs typical of this type of operation.
Is the system modular and expandable?
Yes. The structure is modular, which allows the number of positions to be increased, additional levels to be added, or new bays to be incorporated as the SKU volume grows.
How do you access coils on upper levels?
Using a forklift or other handling equipment. The structure is designed around the type of equipment available at each site to ensure safe and efficient access to all levels.
Can it be combined with other storage systems?
Yes. It is common to integrate coil racking with adjustable pallet racking for other product types within the same warehouse.
