The warehouses of Europe's most modern prepared meals factory

Cascajares is a company specialized in the preparation of ready meals and gourmet food, both for the horeca channel and for individual consumers. They market a wide range of dishes made from traditional products manufactured in their factories in Dueñas (Palencia) and Quebec (Canada).
Need
A fire that broke out at the Cascajares factory in 2023 completely destroyed the entire factory and warehouses. Nothing remained of their facilities, forcing the company to build a new factory and warehouses in record time. Cascajares once again trusted POLYPAL to equip their warehouse and meet the deadline to market their products during the Christmas campaign (one of Cascajares’ main production peaks).
Solution
Cascajares’ new facilities are three times larger than the previous ones. They cover over 5,000 m2 and include three distinct storage areas:
• Dry storage area
• Refrigerated storage area between 0-4ºC
• Freezer storage area at -25ºC
The new warehouse, with a capacity for 1,500 pallets, is equipped with conventional pallet racking and dynamic racking for the freezer and refrigerated chambers. The finish of the shelving has been adapted to the thermal and humidity characteristics through the use of a galvanized finish to prevent corrosion in the refrigerated storage area.
POLYPAL equipped the warehouses while the production lines were manufacturing all the products for the Christmas campaign, without interfering with production work. In this way, Cascajares was able to start up its facilities in record time, culminating the year with a successful Christmas campaign.
Despite the incident, the company not only managed to rebuild and start up new facilities, but also implemented significant improvements, making it one of the most modern factories in Europe in the prepared meals sector.
