The warehouse for chemical products of the logistics leader of the Valencian Community, Improving

Client

Improving is a logistics services company, a leader in the Valencian Community, providing storage, handling, and logistics consulting services to clients from all types of sectors. It has 40 logistics platforms in the main industrial parks and manages 270,000 m2 of warehouses throughout Spain.

Need

This project arose from the need to maximize capabilities and improve logistics flows for one of Improving’s clients in the chemical sector. After consulting and analysis work, the client opted to build new facilities to unify its factory and warehouse in the same building, as the separation of these areas significantly complicated logistics processes.

Solution

The new 50,000 m² facilities include a 23,000 m² warehouse with capacity for 30,000 pallets at full occupancy, in addition to the pallets located in the staging area.

In this logistics center dedicated to the storage of chemical products, Improving manages up to 1,500 pallets daily and 20,000 picking boxes. This is a warehouse where intensive picking work is carried out, and all types of picking common in distribution are performed, such as product picking, batch picking, and order picking, etc.

One of the most relevant aspects of this project is the maximization of vertical storage capacity. Through a detailed study of pallet heights and consumption averages, it was possible to increase storage capacity by adding an additional load level and redistributing the height of the racks more efficiently. Each rack in this warehouse has custom measurements to optimize the available space.
