Solidarity actions that demonstrate the values of our clients in the face of the coronavirus
Since the beginning of the pandemic, many companies have collaborated with solidarity initiatives or have replaced their main activity with the production of sanitary or protective material. Many of our clients are part of these companies, and we wanted to compile some of the solidarity actions they have launched in the face of the health crisis.
Pulmonary respirators to save lives
Hersill will produce 5,000 respirators in two months. This type of ventilation machine is crucial in hospitals and ICUs for patients with respiratory difficulties or who are in a coma due to conditions caused by the coronavirus.
Solidarity auctions
The bicycle manufacturer Orbea is holding several solidarity auctions of bicycles and cycling equipment to raise funds that will be donated to the emergency campaign against COVID-19 being carried out by UNICEF. In addition to these auctions, Orbea is also promoting donations among its community of followers.
Logistics and distribution of sanitary material
Given the need to centralize the logistical work of sanitary and protective material, Dachser has placed its facilities and personnel at the disposal of the Basque Health Service to deal with the coronavirus. In its 4,000 m2 warehouse in the Biscayan town of Amorebieta, large-scale logistical work is carried out for the reception and distribution of Osakidetza sanitary material and protective equipment for the Ertzaintza, local police, firefighters, and undertakers.
Food, hygiene and cleaning products for vulnerable groups, the sick and healthcare personnel
The distribution cooperative Eroski has launched a solidarity campaign throughout its supermarket network to raise funds for the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (Fesbal). More than 1,300 establishments, including Eroski, Vegalsa and Caprabo supermarkets, hypermarkets and franchises, offer their customers the possibility of making a financial contribution to the Food Banks. For its part, Eroski donates 30 tons of food products to the campaign.
Eroski has also collaborated with the Red Cross to cover basic food, hygiene and cleaning needs of families in vulnerable situations affected by COVID-19.
Aquaservice has launched a special operation to offer a free and permanent supply of mineral water for hospitalized patients and healthcare personnel at the Ifema temporary hospital, as well as other public hospitals in Madrid.
The L’Oréal Group is producing an average of 20,000 units of disinfectant gels per day available to the Spanish health authorities.
The company has also sent hygiene products and disinfectant gels to healthcare personnel in primary care centers, hospitals throughout Spain, and supermarket workers.
Likewise, the L’Oréal Foundation has donated funds to the Spanish Federation of Food Banks and various NGOs for the fight against the coronavirus.
Donation of material for hospitals and funds for research into the vaccine against the coronavirus
The furniture manufacturer Actiu has delivered more than 600 chairs and tables to different Spanish hospitals, as well as transparent protectors and masks for hospital use. The company has also offered part of its special textile to manufacture masks and is collaborating in the manufacture of sanitary gowns. In addition, it has allocated funds to projects for research into the vaccine against the coronavirus.
Protections for personnel for hospitals, pharmacies and supermarkets
Carglass has contributed its grain of sand by donating five 3D printers for the “Coronavirus Makers” project with the aim of manufacturing anti-splash visors for personnel in hospital centers, residences and social services, and food delivery volunteers.
The children’s clothing brand Mayoral has delivered 3,000 special individual protection suits, 10,000 gloves and 20,000 masks to different hospitals.
Luminosos Vera has donated facial protection screens to hospitals and is manufacturing customer service protection screens for pharmacies and commercial surfaces.
