POLYPAL’s gravity-based dynamic pallet storage system consists of compact block structures incorporating roller tracks with a slight incline that allow pallets to slide along them.

These racking systems are designed for FIFO (First In / First Out) operation: the first pallet entering is the first pallet leaving. This is the best solution for storing perishable products that require perfect stock rotation.

How the fifo dynamic system works

FIFO dynamic racking incorporates roller tracks with a slight incline within a compact block structure. Pallets are loaded at one end of the channel, and the incline causes them to slide slowly and at a controlled speed to the opposite end, where unloading takes place.

When a pallet is removed, the next one automatically advances by gravity and becomes ready for extraction. The cycle repeats without manual intervention and without the need for power: gravity itself moves the goods.

The rollers incorporate a braking system that regulates sliding speed, ensuring that pallets reach the unloading point safely regardless of their weight.

The result is a system that physically separates the loading area and the unloading area, with one aisle at each end, eliminating the intermediate aisles required by conventional systems.

Features and advantages of fifo dynamic racking

Automatic and guaranteed stock rotation

The system design itself ensures the FIFO principle without additional control. The oldest pallet in the channel is always removed first.

Compact high-density system

By eliminating intermediate aisles, the usable storage area increases significantly compared with conventional racking. More pallets in the same space.

Safer and more efficient operation

The physical separation between the loading aisle and the unloading aisle eliminates cross-traffic of forklifts, reduces the risk of accidents, and allows more orderly and efficient work flows, with fewer operators and forklifts in circulation.

Space optimization

Maximizes the use of space and volume by requiring only one loading aisle and one unloading aisle, enabling more pallets per square metre than with conventional racking. Conventional racking systems require additional aisles that this system does not need.

Safe, high-performance picking

The separation of loading and unloading aisles allows the design of a dedicated and orderly space for order preparation, without interference from the incoming goods flow.

Do you need to guarantee perfect stock rotation?

Our engineering team analyses your operation and designs the most suitable FIFO dynamic system for your warehouse.

When to choosing fifo dynamic racking?

FIFO dynamic racking is the ideal solution when your operation presents one or more of the following scenarios:

  • Sectors working with perishable products such as food, pharmaceuticals, or cosmetics, where batch and date control is essential to guarantee correct stock rotation
  • High volume per SKU with few different SKUs and many pallets of each
  • Need to separate loading and unloading areas to improve safety and operational performance
  • Limited space, when it is necessary to maximize storage capacity without expanding the footprint

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between FIFO and LIFO?

In the FIFO system, loading and unloading take place at opposite ends of the channel, guaranteeing that the first pallet entering is the first pallet leaving. In the LIFO system, loading and unloading occur at the same end, so the last pallet entering is the first pallet leaving. FIFO is suitable for products with expiry dates; LIFO is suitable for non-perishable products where rotation is not critical.

No. Pallet sliding occurs exclusively by gravity, with no motorized elements and no electrical consumption.

Sliding speed is regulated by the rollers’ braking system, which ensures slow and controlled movement regardless of pallet weight.

The system is designed according to the type and dimensions of the pallet to be used.

Yes. It is common to combine FIFO dynamic racking with other types of racking within the same warehouse, reserving the dynamic system for products that require controlled rotation.
