Storage solution for palletisation and picking in the new central warehouse of Mediapost
Mediapost, specialised in promotional logistics and relationship marketing, has 10 offices, 750 employees and 55,000m2 of warehouse space, to store, handle and distribute promotional merchandise to the whole of Spain.
Need
Due to the enormous growth experienced by Mediapost in the last decade, doubling its turnover, the company decided to move its central installations situated in Madrid to a larger facility in Toledo. Thanks to this move, Mediapost now has a storage surface of 35,000 m2.
Solution
For Mediapost’s new central warehouse, POLYPAL designed a layout to relocate the racking that was in the former warehouse and add it to the new racking POLYPAL made for this client.
The newly manufactured racking installation comprised:
- 697 adjustable pallet racking modules with a height of more than 10m, total load capacity of 12,546 pallets and maximum load of 15,000 kg/module.
- Pallet racking with lower levels for picking made of metal mesh set into the uprights. In total, 699 levels for the storage and picking of non-palletised product.
POLYPAL prepared a layout design with newly manufactured racks and the racks relocated from the previous warehouse of Mediapost, which had also been made by POLYPAL. In this way, the client managed to save costs and optimise the investment.
