New warehouse to centralise Conforama logistics and enhance the online business

CONFORAMA is a multinational specialised in home furniture and decoration with more than 200 stores in France, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, Luxemburg, Italy and Croatia.

Need

Construction of the new logistics centre is key for the furniture chain’s expansion, which contemplates opening 20 new stores in Spain and Portugal in the coming years. These stores will be additional to the current 51 on the peninsula.

Solution

The platform built in Liria (Spain) has a warehouse surface of more than 58,000 m2, an office building of 1,140 m2 and 50 loading bays. This new central warehouse will offer an optimised customer service, increase product availability, reduce delivery times and enhance the online business.

From the new platform, with the capacity to contain 80,000 cubic metres of product, more than 10,000 references will be managed and approximately 6 million units of product per year.

Modules of 10 metres with up to 5 levels in height were installed, comprising 55 rows of double racks and 4 rows of simple wall racks.

The total load capacity is 73,506 pallets:

• 42,206 pallets with a maximum load of 800 kg
• 31,300 pallets with a maximum load of 400 kg
